All mental health nurses with the QUT Medical Centre work across both campuses.

There is also Mindfulness Sessions that are available to register within QUT through Unihub: Mindfulness - Student - QUT Portal

Catherine Vellacott
Registered Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Gardens Point Campus

Cathy is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse with extensive experience working in a variety of settings including public and private hospitals and community mental health. Cathy has specialist skills in eating disorder management and more recently has been working in a private sector with people with anxiety, depression and PTSD.

Cathy works at Gardens Point campus on Monday to Friday.

Alexandra Jameson
Registered Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Kelvin Grove Campus

Alexandra (she/her) is a registered mental health nurse with extensive experience in public and private mental health services. She is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse and is a member of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN). Alexandra has over 10 years’ experience across all areas of adult and youth mental health, transcultural mental health, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma related disorders, neurodivergent disorders and psychotic disorders. She has special interest in multicultural mental health perspective, early psychosis, trauma related disorders and psychotherapy approaches. Alexandra is especially passionate about creating spaces where the wellbeing and the hearts, souls and strength of her patients is met with kindness and compassion. She is based at the Kelvin Grove Campus Monday to Friday. Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, outdoor walks, holidays, and listening to audio books.

Kate Desoe
Registered Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Gardens Point Campus

Kate is a Mental Health Nurse and has completed a Masters of Counselling. Kate has experience working in community mental health, private counselling and crisis support. Kate has particular interest in empowering students to take control of their mental health and build resilience through holistic support.

Kate works at Gardens Point campus fortnightly on a Friday.
